list: List marker
Definition
list
refers to a list marker that indicates a relationship among coordinate sentence components that are connected by punctuation marks.
Characteristics
- According to the UD scheme, list tags are typically attached to the first item in a sequence. However, as an agglutinative language, Korean determines grammatical roles based on the postposition on the last item. Therefore, to reflect this linguistic characteristic, list tags in Korean should be assigned as dependents of the last item in the sequence.
- Examples
- 우리나라의 계절에 봄, 여름, 가을, 겨울이(nsubj) 있습니다.
- 친구가 공부할 때, 운동을 할 때, 놀 때에(obl) 집중을 잘합니다.

Differences from related tags
- list vs. conj (Conjunct):
- Both the list and conj tags indicate relationships between coordinate sentence components.
- The list tag is used when the components are connected by punctuation marks such as commas, whereas the conj tag is used when the components are linked by words such as ‘와/과’ or ‘또는’.
- The list tag depends on the last item, while the conj tag depends on the first item.
- list: 나는 영어, 스페인어, 중국어를 할 줄 안다.
- conj: 나는 영어와 스페인어랑 중국어를 할 줄 안다.
