Definition

NR refers to numerals that indicate the quantity or order of objects.

Characteristics

• NR functions similarly to a noun in a sentence but differs in that it cannot take plural forms.
• Unlike MM (Determiner, 관형사), which quantifies a noun before it, NR is typically followed by a postposition.
• NR includes numerals that indicate quantity, such as ‘하나’ (one), ‘둘’ (two), ‘셋’ (three), as well as numerals that indicate order, such as ‘첫째’ (first), ‘둘째’ (second), ‘셋째’ (third).
• Examples:
  • 우리 둘은 함께 버스를 탔다.
  • 첫째, 버스의 장점은 저렴하다는 것이다.
